Dr. Scarlett Nominated for the Golden Star Award
We have wonderful news to share! Dr. Scarlett Magda, VI’s founding president, has been nominated for another incredible honor: the 2023 Worldwide Vets Golden Star Award. This award recognizes individuals around the globe who have made a great contribution to animal welfare or conservation.
Dr. Galina Bershteyn, who nominated Dr. Scarlett for this special recognition, said the following:
“Scarlett was my classmate in vet school and has always been passionate about One Health before it was even an initiative. She founded Veterinarians International after vet school and grew the project to include conservation and wildlife rescue efforts all over the world. She is helping me organize my own conservation and wildlife rescue efforts here in Costa Rica through my organization Pura Vida Veterinary Wellness and Wildsun Wildlife Rescue in Costa Rica.”
In so many ways, your support has been a driving force for the incredible work that Dr. Scarlett has accomplished to help improve the welfare and well-being of countless animals, both wild and domestic, as well as our fragile ecosystem.
