Reservations should be made well in advance as accommodations are limited and sell out fast.

Deposit: A non-refundable deposit equal to 20% of your total tour cost is required to guarantee your reservation. If departure date is within 65 days, full payment is required to book your space.

Final Payment: Full payment is due 65 days prior to departure.

Cancellation Charges
a) 20% of total tour cost is forfeited for cancellation made for any reason 66 days or more before departure.
b) 100% of total tour cost is forfeited for cancellations made for any reason 65 or fewer days before departure. Should the tour be cancelled by Veterinarians International then these funds will be applied to a future trip.

Elephant Transit Home

DAY 1 – DAY 2
  • Travel Friday 10/18 from designated airport and arrive in Colombo on Saturday 10/19
  • Spend one night in a charming hotel
  • Sunday morning breakfast & depart hotel at 12pm for a 4-hour ride to Udawalawe National Park as we make our way to the Elephant Transit Home
DAY 2 – DAY 6
  • Arrive in Udawalawe and spend 4 nights at the Owls Nest, a lovely Bed and Breakfast by Michael, the former heavyweight champion of Sri Lanka who is an AMAZING chef
  • Monday morning walk down the road 1 mile to the Elephant Transit Home and learn about Sri Lankan culture along the way.
  • Spend 3 days participating and observing a pathology training for Sri Lankan veterinarians, given by Dr. Dale Smith. Get a behind-the-scenes look and learn all about the ETH and the important work they do with Vets International.
  • Experience a safari in Udawalawe National Park

Wild Coast Tented Lodge

DAY 6 – DAY 8
  • Travel to Yala National Park and stay at the Wild Coast Tented Lodge, a spectacular luxury tented camp located where the jungle meets a pristine beach, overlooking the Indian Ocean. The unique design blends seamlessly into the surrounding landscape.
  • Spend two nights enjoying the all-inclusive experience curated by the prestigious Relais & Châteaux association, including fine dining and safari adventures
  • Reflect with your colleagues on all that was learned and observed on this journey and how we can make the world a better place for animals and the people who care for them
DAY 8
  • Depart from Yala to Colombo
  • Hotel room available to shower and store luggage prior to early morning flights
